SketchUp can still be used for the regular view model of a 3D scene from within Windows, and the obvious benefit here is that you can still easily move objects around the scene as needed. This has not changed what SketchUp Viewer is for, but rather added to it. This means that no longer are users limited to viewing pre-designed model from outside the app. They have developed an application that allows users to be able to view, edit, and also save any level in a relatively simple and intuitive manner. With this new application, Trimble is Taking 3D modelling even further into what they now refer to as experiential design and building process. SketchUp Viewer for HoloLens extends the value and cost already invested in 3D modelling with the integration of SketchUp and Windows.
